Abstract
Renal arteriovenous fistula after renal biopsy is a relatively rare complication. Treatment consists of con- servative care, partial or total nephrectomy, ligation of branch artery and transcatheter arterial embolization. Selective arterial embolization using embolic material was found to be useful in the management of arter- iovenous fistula with severe bleeding which was not controlled with conservative care. It afforded also sav- ing other uninvolved healthy renal parenchyme. We report a case of renal arteriovenous fistula after renal biopsy, successfully treated with selective arterial embolization with gelfoam sponge, with review of liter- atures reported in Korea.
