Abstract
Administration of Captopril, an angiotensin convert- ing enzyme inhibitor, to patients with primary glomer- ular disease is known to reduced proteinuria. However, clinical reports describing the influence of this medica- tion on proteinuria and renal function is restricted to the period of 6 months follow up. So, Captopril(1.0-1.5 mg/kg/day) was tried concom- itant with prednisolone(1 mg/kg/qod) to 9 pateints with steroid resistant nephrotic syndrome. They were foll- owed up for the average of 13. 2± 2. 6 months and under- taken laboratory studies. The results were as follows. 1) 24 hour urinary excretion of protein declined slow- ly from 6.3±5.3 g/24hr to 3.0±3.0 g/24hr(p>0.05) in 6 month, and then decreased to 2.1±1.7 g/24hr(p<0.05) at the end of 12 month following period.
