Abstract
Acute lobar nephronia, synonymous with acute focal bacterial nephritis, represents a localized area of renal inflammation without requefaction. Clinically, acute lobar nephronia presents as acute pyelonephritis but is distinguishable by presence of renal mass lesion on radiological study, and differential diagnosis with renal adscess or other renal masses is important for proper treatment. We have expreienced a case of a child with acute lobar nephronia associatd with vesicoureteral reflux. The patient was treated with antibiotics for 6 weeks and ureteroneocystostomy was done sucessfully, but follow up sonographic examination after 8 weeks revealed scarring change on affected left kidndy. We report this case with review of literatures.
