| Abstract |
|
Rhabdomyolysis has many etiologies ranging from trauma and inflammatory diseases to metabolic dis- orders such as acute alcoholic myopathy, potassium depletion, and hyperosmolal state. A 22-year-old man with severe hypernatremia present- ed with biochemical evidence of rhabdomyolysis. To our knowledge, these findings in combination are rare and have not been previously reported in Korea. We discussed the effect of hypernatremia on muscle metabolism, and hypernatremia as a cause of rhabdomyolysis. |
