| Abstract |
|
We evaluated the effects of prostaglandin E, on proteinuria and renal function in three patients with diabetic nephropathy. Two-hour intravenous infusion of 40 pg of PGE, dissolved in 200 ml of normal saline was performed twice daily for three weeks with the evalua- tion of weekly creatinine clearance and protein excre- tion rate. Three weeks of infusion of PGE tended to decrease the urinary protein excretion rate with the decrease of creatinine clearance. Therefore, careful observation of renal functional status may be required during the periods of PGE administration. |
