고명구 , 윤경우
Abstract
The effect of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor captopril on proteinuria was evaluated in 10 patients with renal disease of different etilogy. Captopril (37.5 mg given daily in 3 divided doses) was administered for 8 weeks. In heavy proteinuria (more than 1 g/day> group (N = 5), 24 hours urinary protien decreased significantly on the 6th weeks after captopril treatment (from 7.0± 3.0 g to 1.6±1.1 g, p< 0.05). But in low proteinuria (less than 1 g/day) group (N =5), the proteinuria-decreasing effect of captopril was not evident during the study period. Serum creatinine, albumin, electrolytes, and blood pressure did not change significantly during the study period. In conclusion, the proteinuria-decreasing effect of captopril is significantly good in heavy proteinuria patients but not evident in low proteinuria patients.
