| Abstract |
|
Goodpastures syndrome has always been said to be related to the development of antiglomerular basement membrane antibody, immune complex and autiglomer- ular basement membrane antibody, immune complex and autoimmune mechanism in the past. But recently a number of cases were reported to have developed without relationship to immune mechanism. We are now reporting one case with diffuse intrapul- monary hemorrhage and glomerulonephritis, but im- munofluorescence of kidney and lung tissue revealed no immune reactant deposition. In this patient, pulmonary hemorrhage improved markly in 24 hours following initiation of high doses of corticosteroid therapy. In contrast, renal function did not improved, patient eventually died at home subsequent to the sudden recur- rence of massive pulmonary hemorrhage. |
