| Abstract |

Fasting gastrin levels were measured by radioi- mmunoassay in serum from 10 renal transplanta- tion recipients & compaired with those in 15 chr- onic renal failure patients & 15 healthy controls. Also, the gastrin & creatinine levels were followed up in the 2 renal transplantation recipients. The fasting serum gastrin levels in renal tran- splantation recipients were lower significantly than chronic renal failure patients, & higher than normal controls. Gastrin levels were elevated when rejection had appeared, serum gastrin had positive correlation statistically with serum creatinine. This does support an important role for the ki- dney in gastrin metabolism. |
