| Abstract |
|
Acute bilateral renal cortical necrosis is a rela- tively rare cause of acute renal failure and it's prognosis is fatal. The pathophysiology of this con- dition is complex, but ultimately leads to the des- truction of the renal cortex with sparing of the renal medulla. It follows an obstetric complication or pre and postoperative or septicemic shock, pancreatitis, bums, snakes envenomation, transfusion reaction etc. We report a case of acute bilateral cortical necrosis following postoperative shock and massive hemorrhage by the traffic accidents. |
