| Abstract |
|
We report a rare case of AL type renal amy- loidosis associated with primary intestinal lymphoma. This is, to our knowledge, the second such case to be reported. A 70-year-old man was refered for investigation of proteinuria Renal biopsy revealed renal amyloidosis. B-cell lymphoma was diagnosed in the terminal ileum, cecum and rectum by colonosco- pic biopsy. Monoclonal gammopathy(IgG, lambda type) was found in the serum and urine immunoelectrophoresis. Chemotherapy for malignant lym- phoma was done. Although polypoid mass of intestinal lymphoma partially responded, proteinuria and monoclonal gammopathy persisted. The patient died due to pneumonia associated .with leukopenia at 4 months after diagnosis. Such an association of a primary intestinal lymphoma, monoclonal gammopa- thy and renal amyloidosis has rarely been reported in the literature. |
