The toxic shock syndrome is an acute onset multisys- tem illness, and has a clinical spectrum ranging from a relatively mild to a rapidly fatal illness. The illness is associated with colonization or infection by strains of Staphylococcus aureus, which produce toxic shock syn- drome toxin l. We report a case of a toxic shock syndrome in 68- year-old female CAPD patient with the CAPD catheter cuff and tunnel infection. |
